This page covers a variety of FAQ’s regarding Pre-School. If you have a question that is not answered here please feel free to contact us.

At the beginning of each month you will receive a newsletter which will inform you of general plans, field trips, important dates, and other special events which will occur at school during the upcoming month. We will also include a copy of the newsletter on each class page here on the website.

The children are asked to plan, provide, prepare and serve a nutritious snack for the entire class several times a year . We feel this is an excellent opportunity for your child to learn about nutrition first hand, and to assume the responsibilities of planning and following through with an activity on their own. Your classroom teacher will assign your child several dates throughout the year. The snack schedule will be posted on the bulletin board.

Arrival & Pick-Up

The way children begin their day at school often sets the mood for that day. Parents are asked to participate in the arrival and greeting time to help make the transition from home to school easier. Please accompany your child into the building, assist in hanging up coats and putting belongings away, and being sensitive to separation anxieties they may have. Each class begins at a specific time. The children should not arrive before their class’ start time, as the teachers are busy setting up and preparing for the day’s activities.

Please pick children up promptly at the end of the day. Consistency in pick-up aids in building trust between the child and parent, and also between parent and teacher.

Please inform the teacher if any new person is to pick up your child, or if he/she is to go home with another child.

For your child’s benefit, and as a courtesy to others, please keep your child home if he/she is not feeling well. If your child has had a difficult night, or is on medication, please let one of the teachers know as this can change his/her participation in school. Dr. Michael Ross is our medical advisor and will be consulted in case of emergency.

The children are expected to attend on a regular basis. If he or she is to be absent for more than one day please call the school to let us know.

Tuition Payments

Yearly tuition may be paid in full or in ten equal monthly installments. The first payment is due when your child has been accepted into the program. If you withdraw your child prior to August 1st, this tuition payment will be refunded. The second payment is due September 1st, with each subsequent payment due on or before the first day of each month through May. There is a late fee of $10 for tuition payments not received before the 10th of the month.

Tuition is due regardless of the child’s attendance. Our budget is based on yearly tuition, which is paid in monthly installments. Therefore if a child is absent due to extended vacations or illness tuition is still due in full.

A one-month notice is requested should you withdraw your child from the program. A refund will be given for any time paid beyond the one-month period.
